Help & Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Clear, honest answers about residential solar panels, air source heat pumps, and how our referral model operates.
About our service
Does Synergy Orbit Limited install solar panels?
No. Synergy Orbit Limited is a lead-generation and referral service. We have an initial conversation with you about your property and interests and, where appropriate, introduce you to an independent solar installation provider. The installer is responsible for any property assessment, quotation, technical advice and installation work.
How do I get in touch?
You can message us on WhatsApp or call us on +447424804453. We do not currently use online enquiry forms — conversations start directly on WhatsApp or by telephone.
What happens after I contact you?
We will ask some general questions about your location, your property and whether you are interested in solar panels, battery storage or both. We will then explain the referral process. If an introduction to an independent installer seems appropriate, we will explain what information would be shared and with whom, and we will only share your details with your permission.
Do you charge homeowners for an introduction?
Synergy Orbit Limited may receive a fee from an installation provider for an introduction. Any costs for an assessment, products or installation are set out by the installer directly, and you are free to decide whether or not to proceed.
Which areas do you cover?
We currently welcome enquiries from Leicester, Birmingham, Milton Keynes and Slough. Coverage depends on the availability of suitable independent installation providers for your property, so we cannot guarantee an introduction in every case.
Am I obliged to go ahead with an installer?
No. Speaking to us does not commit you to anything. If you are introduced to an installer, any decision about an assessment, quotation or installation is entirely yours.
Solar panels
How do residential solar panels work?
Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels convert daylight into direct-current electricity. An inverter converts this into alternating current that can be used in your home. Electricity that is not used at the time may be exported to the grid or, if you have a battery, stored for later use.
Is my home suitable for solar panels?
Suitability varies from property to property. Factors include roof orientation and pitch, available roof space, shading from trees or nearby buildings, the condition of the roof, and any planning considerations. Only an installer's assessment can confirm whether solar is suitable for your property.
How much will solar panels cost and how much could I save?
We do not provide quotations or savings estimates. Costs and any potential savings depend on your property, your energy use, the system specified and other factors. An independent installer can provide a quotation following their own assessment.
Can I get free solar panels or government funding?
We do not offer free solar panels and cannot guarantee eligibility for any government scheme or funding. Schemes and eligibility criteria change from time to time, so it is best to check official government sources and discuss any options with an installer.
Do I need planning permission?
Many domestic solar installations in England fall under permitted development rights, but conditions and exceptions apply — for example, for listed buildings, conservation areas and some flats. Your installer and your local planning authority can confirm what applies to your property.
Can I add a battery to store excess solar electricity?
Yes. Many households choose to pair solar panels with a home battery to store surplus electricity generated during daylight hours for use in the evening. An installer can advise on whether battery storage is appropriate for your system.
Can landlords explore solar panels for rental properties?
Yes. Synergy Orbit Limited welcomes enquiries from landlords exploring solar panels for rental homes in Leicester, Birmingham, Milton Keynes and Slough. We can discuss your property and explain the referral process.
What should I ask an installer?
It is sensible to ask about relevant certifications and accreditations (such as MCS certification), insurance-backed guarantees, product warranties, the proposed system specification, and what is included in the quotation. Comparing more than one quotation is also a good idea.
Air source heat pumps
What is an air source heat pump?
An air source heat pump (ASHP) is an electrical heating system that captures heat from the ambient outdoor air and uses it to heat your home and, with suitable cylinders, your hot water. Most UK residential installations are air-to-water systems that connect directly into radiators or underfloor heating.
How does an air source heat pump work?
The system works in three key stages: an outdoor fan unit extracts heat from the surrounding air; a refrigeration cycle powered by electricity raises that heat to a useful temperature; and the heat is then circulated into your central heating circuits and domestic hot water tank. It uses electricity to transfer heat rather than burning fossil fuels.
Can an air source heat pump provide hot water?
Yes. Air-to-water heat pumps can provide both space heating and domestic hot water when paired with a compatible, well-insulated hot water cylinder. An installer will assess your available indoor space to verify if a suitable cylinder can be accommodated.
Is an air source heat pump suitable for every home?
Suitability depends on multiple factors including insulation levels, existing heat emitters (radiator sizing or underfloor heating), available outdoor space for the external unit, electrical capacity, and indoor space for pipework and cylinders. A professional heating survey by a qualified installer is essential to determine suitability.
Can an air source heat pump replace my existing boiler?
In many suitable properties, an air source heat pump can fully replace an oil, LPG, or gas boiler. Because heat pumps typically run at lower flow temperatures than traditional boilers, an installer may recommend upgrading certain radiators or improving insulation to ensure the property heats comfortably and efficiently.
Is my property eligible for a government grant?
In England and Wales, eligible homeowners may qualify for government support such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) towards installing an air source heat pump. Eligibility rules apply (such as property type, having a valid EPC without outstanding loft/cavity insulation recommendations, and replacing a fossil-fuel system). Grants do not cover the entire installation cost, and your MCS-certified installation provider is responsible for checking eligibility and applying for the grant on your behalf.
Does Synergy Orbit Limited install heat pumps?
No. Synergy Orbit Limited is a lead-generation and referral business. We do not manufacture, design, or install heating systems. We help homeowners explore options and introduce them to independent, qualified installation providers who conduct site surveys, verify grant eligibility, and provide formal quotations.
How can I explore heat pump options for my property?
Simply start a conversation with us on WhatsApp or call +447424804453. We will talk through your property type, current heating system, and general requirements, and where appropriate, explain how you can be introduced to an independent installation provider.
